San Antonio River Walk

When you walk out of the Omni La Mansión del Rio, the first thing you see is the San Antonio River Walk (Paseo del Rio), filled with people from all over the world, restaurants and shops. It is the number one tourist attraction in Texas and is open 365 days a year. At night from your room, you can see the river lit up and it is truly an unforgettable memory. The River Walk is both family oriented and is a romantic area that is filled with history. There are plenty of restaurants and shops along the river to choose from.

Things to Know Before You Go

• The Rivercenter Mall will meet all your shopping needs and is on the river. 
• The river is wheelchair accessible and there is an ADA map of the river available. 
• The River Walk hosts several river parades per year including the Texas Cavaliers River parade during April for Fiesta, River Lighting during the Christmas holidays and the Armed Forces river parade in May. 
• There are several other events held on the river including the Ford Mariachi Festival, Ford Canoe Challenge and Bud Light, The Taste to name a few.  
• There are river barges and taxis that take you on a tour of the river! 
• The river flows through approximately 5 miles through the downtown and outlying area. 
• The river is free to all visitors. The River Walk is pet-friendly as long as your pet is on a leash. Boat ride hours are from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• The river is drained every year in January for cleaning and maintenance
