Garth Newel Emerging Artist Fellows to Perform "Music Feeds Us" Concert Benefiting the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank
Hot Springs, VA (July 9, 2025) – The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa will present "Music Feeds Us," a concert featuring the Garth Newel Emerging Artist Fellows on Saturday, July 26, at noon at the resort. This noteworthy performance, followed by a delightful dessert reception, aims to raise vital funds for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
Tickets for the concert are $40 per person and may be purchased online via Ticketbud. A limited number of VIP tables, which seat four, are available for $250. All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. As a bonus, all tickets will also include access to the famed Parker Quartet performance that evening at the Garth Newel Music Center.
"Music Feeds Us" was founded in 2012 by Fitz Gary, violist of the Garth Newel Piano Quartet. These concerts raise money for area food banks, with the Garth Newel Piano Quartet also holding a "Music Feeds Us" concert each December at Windy Cove Baptist Church.
Gary said, “I am thrilled that we at Garth Newel are partnering with The Omni Homestead and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank for this special concert featuring our wonderful fellows this summer! I hope this concert not only supports those in need in our community but also inspires those who are able to help their neighbors in need. Now more than ever, people are struggling around us, and we can look to music and to each other to uplift our communities.”
“We are honored to partner with our friends at Garth Newel to support those in need in our area and the arts,” said Mark Spadoni, managing director of The Homestead. “We are fortunate to have this world-renowned music center here in Bath County and are thrilled to host this unique performance from these talented musicians.”
The performers for this concert are participants in the highly competitive Garth Newel Emerging Artist Fellowship Program. This intensive four-week chamber music program welcomes string players and pianists aged 18–28. Fellows receive expert instruction and coaching from the Garth Newel Piano Quartet, who are artists-in-residence at Garth Newel Music Center and other renowned faculty. The Garth Newel Piano Quartet is celebrated as one of the premier chamber music ensembles in the United States, performing over 50 concerts annually.
Spadoni continued, “This concert aligns perfectly with Omni’s Say Goodnight to Hunger program, which directly benefits those in need in our community.” Since 2016, Omni Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Feeding America to provide more than 26 million meals to food banks across the country in communities where their hotels and resorts are located. “I’m proud to add that many of our managers also play a pivotal role in the monthly distribution at the Hot Springs food pantry and other initiatives that benefit worthwhile endeavors,” he said.
The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, established in 1981, has grown to become the largest hunger relief organization in central and western Virginia. Serving 25 counties and eight cities through a network of over 400 community partners and program sites, the Food Bank is a crucial partner of Feeding America and one of seven food banks in Virginia dedicated to alleviating hunger in the region.
